Greenwich And Docklands International Festival

Taking inspiration from Greenwich’s maritime and astronomical associations this free outdoor production will feature extraordinary theatrical images including aerial performance, exquisite water screen projections, giant hand-painted Baroque images, a flying ship and a cast of dancers in dazzling 3 metre high crinolines.

The 10th Greenwich+Docklands International Festival will be an extended Midsummer weekend of ravishing free outdoor performance from major international companies, and pioneering new work from UK Artists. Some of the most dramatic, skilful and awe-inspiring street entertainment in the world will come to over 40,000 people in London’s most spectacular outdoor theatre event. The Festival takes place at sites all over Greenwich and East London, in addition to Friday night at the ORNC there will be a human mobile suspended from a crane in Woolwich, 9m wheels of colour rolling through the heart of Bow, dance springing from every corner at Canary Wharf, a fantastical Bengali tiger at Three Mills and the most incredible 10th birthday party Greenwich has ever seen.
